For a small home, we generally suggest 1-2 TAXIBOXES, with 1 TAXIBOX fitting in a room and a half worth of items. Each TAXIBOX measures 2.4m deep x 2.2m high x 1.5m wide (externally). You can use our NASA-inspired space calculator. And, if in doubt, you can always order an extra TAXIBOX. If you don’t use it, you don’t pay for it.

Our mobile self-storage units are built from a breathable, wood composite. This makes them stable during transit, without trapping moisture inside – greatly reducing the chance of mold or mildew.

Our on-site self storage units & cool storage rooms are built from solid steel, for maximum protection while your items are being stored at your place.

Yes – each wooden TAXIBOX is covered with a highly durable, weather-resistant cover when not in our indoor storage facility. Both our wooden and metal TAXIBOXES are also raised off the ground, to ensure that your belongings are safe and dry should it rain while your TAXIBOX is outdoors.

We understand that the best of plans can change and we will happily refund your reservation deposit, provided you notify us of your decision to cancel more than 7 days before your TAXIBOX was due to be delivered. Here’s our full cancellation policy.

Provided there is a height clearance of 2.3m, virtually anywhere! To paint a picture, a TAXIBOX can fit into any space that can house your average car. This includes time-limited parking and access areas. Here’s more details on placement, permits & restrictions.

Yes – for safety reasons you cannot store any of the following items:

• Flammable or hazardous goods (e.g. batteries)
• Firearms, munitions or explosives
• Toxic, polluted, contaminated or illegal goods
• Expandable plastics (e.g. foam mattresses)
• Living plants or animals
• Food, liquid, or perishable goods (unless you’re using a Cool Room, of course)

Good question! Mobile Storage is the solution you’ve been looking for if you don’t have enough space at your place. We deliver, you pack (or let us lend a hand) –– once you’re ready, we’ll collect your TAXIBOX and store your stuff at our facility until you need it back. This is also a great option for moving, if you need your stuff delivered straight to your new place. 

If you have a bigger project in the works – say you’re renovating, or you’re preparing your place for sale – On-Site Storage is great if you need to create more space at your place. We deliver, you /pack & lock your TAXIBOX (keeping it at your place for as long as you need) – and we’ll return to collect it once you no longer need it. All we need is enough space (e.g. an off-street driveway, or access to your front yard) to deliver your TAXIBOX. Easy. 

You sure can! You can order all the packing supplies you’ll need for moving/storing on our Box Shop. Have them delivered with or without your TAXIBOX, if you want to get a head start on packing.

You can access your TAXIBOX 6 days a week, 8am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday or 8am – 2pm on Saturdays (AEST). We are closed on Sundays & public holidays.

Nope! Bringing a TAXIBOX to you means you don’t fork out on shipping your items to a storage facility. We’re very transparent with our pricing, so you can find out yourself with an instant quote.

Mobile Storage is just like regular storage – but wayyy better. We take the hassle and stress out of storage by coming to you, not the other way round. We deliver your TAXIBOX wherever you need it, you pack at your own pace (or let us lend a hand). Once you’re all packed, we’ll collect your TAXIBOX and store it at our facility until you need it back. If you’re moving? We’ll redeliver it straight to your new address. 

You can access your TAXIBOX at our facility for free, 6 days a week – all you need to do is submit an access request, which you can do anytime via our customer portal. 

We currently offer delivery only in the metro areas of the cities we operate in. The quickest way to find if your place is inside our delivery zone is to input your postcode as part of an instant quote.

If you might be moving somewhere outside our delivery zone, we may still be the best option for you. Coming to our facility to empty your TAXIBOX will still mean you receive our highly competitive rates PLUS we’ll give you a discount for not needing to re-deliver your TAXIBOX.

We typically recommend allowing up to 14 days for your TAXIBOX to move from end to end, however this may be shorter or longer depending on your origin and destination locations.

Absolutely! If you’re not quite ready to move into your new place just yet, we’ll store your TAXIBOX at one of our facilities until you’ve secured your new address and are ready to arrange re-delivery of your TAXIBOX. 

Our interstate move pricing varies depending on a couple of factors, like where we’re delivering to, and how many TAXIBOXES you need to move. We suggest trying our instant quote calculator to get an accurate idea of how much your interstate move will cost. 

TAXIBOX can help you out with your interstate move as long as you’re moving within any of our service areas – aka metro areas and surrounding suburbs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth. If you’re not sure? Try our delivery zone calculator on our booking form. 

Not a problem! We’ll continue to charge an ongoing monthly storage fee while it’s on your property – just give us a call at least 2 days before your collection, and we’ll help extend the time with your TAXIBOX.

Generally your on-site TAXIBOX needs to be placed within the boundary of your property like a lawn or driveway. With council permission you may be able to have your on-site TAXIBOX in a public space like a nature strip or parking space, but there may be extra conditions and costs involved – these vary between councils.

Our on-site TAXIBOXES are built rugged with steel construction and a high security latching door. Simply pop on your sturdiest padlock of around 40mm in size and you can rest easy that your items are safe and sound.

Your TAXIBOX gets put into place by our driver using a forklift and should generally remain in the one location until we come back to collect. It’s pretty sturdy and heavy, so please don’t hurt your back trying to shift it!

Our metal on-site TAXIBOXES are really intended for ongoing storage at the one location and may be a bit heavy for us to come and move while loaded. If you’re looking to move from one property to another and aren’t storing on-site long-term you might prefer to check out our moving service instead.

Your TAXIBOX cool room is delivered into place by our driver using a forklift and should generally remain in the one location until we come back to collect. That being said, our TAXIBOX cool rooms use a unique skid system and may be moveable if required.

You’ll need a regular every-day household power point (rated at 240V, 10 amp, single phase power), and an heavy duty extension cord to connect to the TAXIBOX cool room. If you don’t have an extension cord, we have them available for purchase with your order.

Our TAXIBOX cool rooms generally have a minimum temperature setting of 2 degrees and couldn’t be used as a freezer, but please ask our helpful team members about this as we may have a solution to suit your needs.

For sure! Your TAXIBOX cool room comes with a heavy-duty padlock and key included – please just be sure to return this to our driver when we collect your cool room at the end of storage.

No need, we’ve got you covered – TAXIBOX Cool Rooms come with a padlock (and 2 keys to match) at no extra charge! We ask that these are returned with your Cool Room when your TAXIBOX is collected. 

TAXIBOX Cool Rooms are supplied with a heavy-duty power-lead – in order to avoid damaging your TAXIBOX, we ask that you only use the power lead we supply. Please plug this lead directly into a power point, without using a powerboard, without running any additional appliances from the same power source.
